Fritz and Melissa

I took this photograph about 1985 or 1986 of my brother Fritz and daughter Melissa. They are standing up in the hay loft of my grandparents barn. The Farm was a great place and was an actual working farm until about the the late 1960s. I Photoshopped it a bit to bring out their features since the original was dark. I like the way it came out, looking somewhat like an old tintype. (I love tintypes.)

Another Cloudy Fall Day

This was taken last week on the way home from work. I always love the early Fall clouds; how they are so heavy and thick and hovering low in the sky.

Old Book Cover

This book cover is from our Special Collections Department. The book is about forests and trees, but I don't know the title, as it is part of an exhibit and the labels haven't been posted yet. I love the way the illustration is so detailed. The gold against the blue background gives it a bold yet at the same time delicate quality.

Some Summer Photos

It has been very hot this summer and the clear blue skies can attest to that.

From the Garden

I belong to a small community garden and here is a refreshing portrait of the fruits of our labors! Japanese Eggplant, an odd shaped Cucumber, Zucchini, Yellow Cherry Tomatoes, a Red Tomato and a tiny Purple Onion.

A Finish from Lili

A beautiful finish of Two Girls by Lili, stitched on a Belfast linen in Vintage Country Mocha. I love the way it looks on a darker linen. The flowers and fruit really stand out and the girls feel like they are being shaded by the tree. It is 100 degrees here today, so being in the shade sounds great!
Thank you Lili!

My kind of sign...

This is a sign in a convenience store that I often pass by on my way to and from work. I just love it. Obviously, English is a second language here, which makes it that much more endearing. I love the sincerity of the straight forward message with the lilting 'Visit' at the top promising all sorts of wonderful adventures in their magazine section.
